For analysis of small molecules, the 10nm pore size, 5 micron particle size 80TM and 80Ts columns are offered in 4 different chemistries to suit a variety of needs.

The Type B base silica is of high purity and contains few metal ion impurities. Combined with monomeric bonding chemistry, these reveresed phase columns have an established reputation as general purpose columns for pharmaceutical applications.

The monomeric materials are delineated by the following nomenclature:

  • Bonded phase pore size is indicated by the number in the product description, for instance, ODS-80Ts has 8nm nominal pore size.  The pore size of the base silica is 10nm.
  • T denotes an endcapped phase.
  • M, as in 80TM, indicates that a regular endcapping Rx has been performed.
  • S, as in 80Ts, indicates a more exhaustive endcapping Rx has been performed.
  • QA in ODS-80Ts QA indicates maximum lo-to-lot reproducibility of retention and selectivity

Highlights

  • Spherical silica with 10nm pores allows fast mass transfer of solutes in the 100 to 6,000Da MW range.
  • Silica surface has low metal content.
  • Monomeric-bonded phase chemistry for optimal lot-to-lot reproducibility.
  • The subscript 'm' indicates that the material has been endcapped. The 's' subscript denotes a more exhaustive endcapping reaction to shield the silica surface to interact with charged solutes.
  • Available in particle sizes of 5µm,10µm, and 20µm.
  • Large surface area and high sample capacity.
  • General purpose Reversed Phase columns.

ODS-80TM ODS-80Ts Octyl-80Ts CN-80Ts

General purpose column for:

  • drug analysis,
  • basic compounds,
  • nucleic acid fragments

Complete endcapping makes the TSKgel ODS-80Ts the column of choice for strongly basic compounds and for applications that require operation at pH 7.5.

Faster kinetics than ODS, but lower hydrophobic selectivity.

Alternative to ODS and Octyl for analysis of polar compounds.
