TSKgel SW-type columns are silica-based. A hydrophilic diol-type bonded phase shields the silica surface from interacting with protein samples. Three different pore sizes are available.

  • 12.5nm pore size for analysis of small proteins and peptides
  • 25nm pore size for most protein samples
  • 45nm pore size for very large proteins and nucleic acids

Compared to competitive HPLC columns, SW-type columns contain more pore volume per unit column volume, which results in higher MW selectivity or better resolution.

Particle sizes for the three SW-type column lines are:

  • SuperSW: 4 micron
  • SWXL: 5-8 micron
  • SW: 10-13 micron

See each of the SW-type product lines for representative calibration curves.

Highlights

  • TSKgel SW-type packings are comprised of rigid spherical silica gel particles chemically derivatized with diol-containing ligands.
  • Low adsorption and well-defined pore size distribution, which are requirements for high performance Gel Filtration of proteins.
  • Three pore sizes are available in SW or SWXL product lines, two in the SuperSW product line
  • TSKgel SuperSW columns feature 4 micron particles for the highest resolution. The narrow 4.6mm column ID provides the highest sensitivity when limited in sample mass.
  • Semi-preparative (21.5mm ID) and preparative (55mm, 108mm ID) stainless steel columns are available for precise scale-up to commercial production.
  • PEEK and Glass column hardware are available in the SWXL product line.

TSKgel SuperSW columns contain spherical 4µm particles (12.5nm and 25nm only) packed in 30cm x 4.6mm ID columns for:

  • For R&D.
  • Use to benefit from high sensitivity when limited in sample mass.
  • 2.6-fold reduction in solvent consumption.

Use 5 or 8µm particle size TSKgel SWXL columns to improve sample resolution or to reduce analysis time (over SW columns).

  • For QC of mAb.
  • Use PEEK columns to reduce sample adsorption to stainless steel or glass.

Analytical TSKgel SW column line features 10 or 13µm particle sizes for improved sample capacity.

  • For protein isolation.
  • Select from stainless steel or glass column hardware.
  • Use preparative columns up to 55mm ID for larger scale purifcations.
